  1. He’s be gutted with nothing to fall back on other than his multi-billionaire wife.

  2. I’ve seen speculation that the Tories may want to unseat him and put in Penny Mordaunt ahead of a general election. I wonder how true that is? Regardless of whether she would play better with voters, wouldn’t *another* leadership purge merely cement the perception of the Conservatives as being unable to govern efficiently?

  3. Who the fuck would take over now? Other than truss wanting to extended her PMship a couple more days no one else will want to.

  4. R. I. S,H,I. The sound of his name makes the unemployed cry.

Hey Rishi you’re oh so fishy.
Your economic policies are just oh so shitty.
Hey Rishi won’t you explain why.
You get so much enjoyment out of causing immigrants pain.

  5. Maybe we won’t get a general election in may but a leadership contest.

  6. The reality is Conservatives haven’t actually been conservatives…

The biggest message people sent the Cons was lower immigration.

Forget whether you agree with that. The POINT is Cons main voting subject WAS immigration.

Immigration is higher than ever. It is also in stark contrast to actual Conservatism. Again, remove emotion on whether you agree or not.

Factually speaking, most Conservative voters voted to lower immigration.

Conservatives main defence now is “If Labour gets in, they’ll allow mass immigration”.

But that’s already happened under now 14 years of tory rule, so it is clearly bullshit, and why now Conservatives will lose 20% or so of the base to Reform, allowing Labour to win.

Labour will win. There is literally nothing the Conservatives can do to get those voters back. Multiple PM’s since 2017 when they played PM musical chairs have made promises and done the opposite. The economy etc is also irrelevant as they have also fucked that.

The ONE thing Conservatives had a track record of was balancing the books. That record has gone.

Frankly, both main parties are indistinguishable from each other economically. Starmers manifesto clearly shows a very similar plan to Sunak’s anyway.

And if mass immigration is on the table regardless, why would anyone vote Conservative? Their two biggest voting levers are broken or identical to Labours so…

  7. Fuck it. Why not just elect every current conservative mp in as pm for a day so they can all cash in on that lucrative pension.

  8. I want him to last long enough to lose massively at the general election

If he just goes now we might get a Tory the Tory lovers like

  9. Why isn’t there a democratic process for us to vote him out or something? Why do we have to wait until either he decides to fuck off, which won’t happen, or a GE

  10. No way would the last remaining sane Westminster Tories will allow the membership to vote on a leader now.

Imagine how many tories from the lunatic fringe of the party would run. All trying to get the last ditch attempt vote. Fabricant for sure. It would be hilarious, and the grass roots membership is so unhinged they would probably elect one of them (source: Liz Truss).

  11. So a man who backstabbed his way into power without winning even the internal Tory party popularity contest, is worried he has no legitimacy and power?

    Interesting..
