And seeing video of Trump’s lawyer John Eastman getting his phone seized in a parking lot, and temporary-AG Jeffrey Clark begging to go back inside his house for a pair of pants, all before anyone knew who Cassidy Hutchinson was, is a good indicator that Trump was also under investigation in the early days as well. Sucks that Garland had to deal with reluctant Trump hold-overs in the FBI. I heard reports that some of them did not even want to search MAGA-lago.
I get wanting to make sure charges were rock solid, but he waited too long to choose a special counsel and indict, and it’s still somewhat unclear whether he was even going to go after Trump for J6 until the house select committee did like 90% of the work.

I knew at the time that Merrick Garland was a poor choice, and ever since he took office I’ve felt right about that prediction the entire time.
The easiest way to prevent further issues would be to repeal the OLC memo and say that existing prosecutions and cases will continue through the election and won’t get shelved 90 days before. Maybe Trump gets convicted the day before Election Day. If that’s the case, the public has a right to know and note vote for a convicted felon.
My guess is Trump’s strategy all along has been to delay, run for President again…if he wins he will dismiss all Federal charges. If he loses he will flee the country. There is 0 chance Trump will stay and face down all those trials that will come to pass in 25. He’s out
