Our daughter is going to a birthday party this morning, so we have a few hours spare. We’ll probably just grab lunch somewhere. Then this afternoon, we are going to a local brewery as they are having a dog day afternoon. They brew a beer called Dog Day Afternoon, and dogs can have their photo taken for the can. We have a 14 week old whippet who’s verrrrry cute, so I’m hoping he makes the cut! Then this evening my friends are coming over and I’m cooking.
Plan to watch a lot of football
Just come back from a 6 month career break and start work again on Monday. I plan to watch Dune 2 at the cinema on my own and then visit M&S to buy a new “work jumper”. Exhilarating stuff.
Getting a haircut and experimenting with a recipe for dandelion & burdock.
Going to chop down a tower crane base after breakfast, will call it a day at that, money Sainsbury’s and the usual stuff afterwards, got my bags for life in the van.
Going roller skating and doing a lab writeup
And for all those working the weekend look forward to the grumpy Monday thread when you are hopefully off and can have the last laugh.
I’m currently having a walk after a full fat can of coke trying to get rid of my hangover.
I’m picking my family up from the airport this evening, and I don’t know if I should just hire a fleet of taxis or a bus. They are coming on such little notice (2 days) and I still can’t believe that they managed to sort out visas, tickets, hotels, and itineraries for 20 people and a few pets in less than a week. It’s a miracle that I managed to find a restaurant to feed them tonight. I know they did it out of concern for me, but I didn’t know that they could actually pull it off.
Honestly, I’m just exhausted and somewhat wish they pushed this trip to another date, and I’m kicking myself for travelling yesterday.
It makes such a difference waking up to the sun shining, I know it won’t last, so making the most of it with my morning coffee in the garden with a book.
Woke up at 5.30 and had tea, toast and an edible. I’m now going to have a morning siesta. Nice.
As part of Japanese Week, Lidl is selling these [matcha-flavoured chicken breast slices](https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/cooked-chicken-breast-slices/p10011983). Nothing to do with my Saturday plans, I just wanted to share that in case anyone would like to surprise and delight their partner or kids with a weird matcha-flavoured chicken sandwich in their packed lunch next week.
Going to the market to buy stokkies from the South African stall, then meeting my son for lunch and beers at a South American restaurant. Later this afternoon playing more Skyrim VR.
Going to call 111 and try to get my daughter an out of hours GP appointment. Fun.
My non verbal autistic son has broken his leg, so I’ve managed to get a wheelchair for him so I can take him for a nice stroll on this beautiful day .
