Been pissing about with squirrel-proof feeders for a while and decided to just buy a cheap one from B&M and see how long it lasts. Within a few days this gorgeous-looking woodpecker shows up.

  2. I’ve only seen woodpecker feathers in the forest and have never seen the bird itself. They are beautiful, good shot!

  4. I saw that feeder in a place called plants galore recently – almost got one thought it was cute. ☺️ I bought a filled coconut instead. Saw a green finch on it yesterday. Not quite a woodpecker but not a normal visitor for me.

    When I lived in Berkshire we’d get woodpeckers and even the occasional red kite in our garden.

    Up north and sometimes get sparrow hawks, usually eating a pigeon…

  7. I did this, I got a rat… No probs I thought, lil fella gotta feed. Then his mates came… I no longer have a bird feeder.
