King Charles’ Speech: Our Diversity is Our Greatest Strength

The 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth is a moment to reflect on the remarkable Journey that our unique family of free and independent nations has made since 1949 last year the Bahamas celebrated its 50th anniversary of Independence as Grenada has this year and papia New Guinea will next

You each of these milestones and many others like them rep present the Fulfillment of countless aspirations and the achievement of such remarkable potential and the Commonwealth growth with new members continuing to join our family of Nations demonstrates clearly that whilst we may not all have a shared history we

Have common Ambitions for a better future working together to build resilience and respond to Global challenges the Commonwealth Family is strongest when we are connected through friendship as I’ve said before the Commonwealth is like the wiring of a house and its people our energy and our ideas are the current that runs through

Those WS together and individually we are strengthened by sharing perspectives and experiences and by offering and borrowing the myriad ways we have each tackled the challenges of our time this is true both at the level of Nations and indeed at the local level we recognize today that our diversity is our greatest

Strength the Commonwealth represents a third of humanity from all regions of the world with all the different experiences knowledge and aspirations that this brings wherever we live we are united by the many challenges we face whether it be climate change the loss of nature or the social and economic changes that new

Technologies are bringing our diversity means that these challenges affect us all differently and that we experience their impacts in different ways their seriousness however is common to each one of us all of this means that we must work together to understand each other’s perspectives including the inequalities and injustices which still resonate to

This day we must find ways of healing and to support each other to pursue Solutions I cannot say often enough that it is by coming together that we create the best Chan to improve our world and the lives of people everywhere indeed over the years countless people across the Commonwealth

Have been inspired to form their own Commonwealth associations from lawyers and accountants to business and trade networks and many more besides the work they do is absolutely vital sharing Professional Knowledge experience and expertise across the continents for the betterment of each one of us the Commonwealth above all retains a

Particular focus on our young people who make up 2third of the entire Commonwealth population whether in Kenya or Malaysia Vanuatu or Dominica Malta or Canada I never cease to be impressed by their creativity Innovative skills and hard work often in the most challenging circumstances their energy is transforming approaches to development

Technology and preserving and restoring nature and will I hope help to shape and Safeguard our common future having recently celebrated my own 75th birthday it warms my heart to reflect on the way the Commonwealth has been a constant throughout my own life a precious source of strength inspiration and

Pride in recent weeks I have been most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health and in return can only continue to serve you to the best of my ability throughout the Commonwealth my belief in our shared Endeavors and in the potential of our

People remains a sure and strong as it has ever been I have no doubt that we will continue to support one another across the Commonwealth as together we continue this vital Journey

  1. “For anyone with any sense, who was in trouble, would come to the whips and tell them the truth, and say now, I’m in a jam, can you help ? It might be debt, it might be… a scandal involving small boys, or any kind of scandal in which, erm er, a member seemed likely to be mixed up in, they’d come and ask if we could help and if we could, we did. And we would do everything we can because we would store up brownie points… and if I mean, that sounds a pretty, pretty nasty reason, but it’s one of the reasons because if we could get a chap out of trouble then, he will do as we ask forever more.” – Tim Fortescue, Conservative party whip 1970 – 1973, interviewed in 1995 BBC documentary titled “Westminster’s Secret Service”.

  2. Thank you for your beautiful speech. No doubt you and your beloved daughter in law are being missed terribly. Rest well and speedy recovery ❤❤❤❤❤

  3. From Australia.
King Charles always speaks about important matters and offers encouragement to those working for a better world for all people. He's a leader in the most positive way.

  4. Lovely speech and effort from the king considering his ill health. Hope some of this good will can extend to healing his family.

  5. Что-то он плохо выглядит. Лицо худое и морщинистое. Похудел на лицо. А пальцы ТОЛСТЫЕ И КРАСНЫЕ. БОЛЬНОЙ. ЭТО ОЧЕВИДНО.

  6. lol "diversity is our greatest strength." Charles is manipulating people with marketing speak to "justify" the ongoing invasion of Europe and America.
Diversity is SOMEBODY'S greatest strength, but not heritage Europeans. Everybody knows the standard of living was exponentially better before "diversity". To learn the truth about this royal, start here: https://youtu.be/M4YEq2Upv2U?si=YJGdtVQwwcICmz9f

  7. Something is very charming about the British monarchy, in no small part thanks to his late mother. I wish my coutnry, Hungary, too had a king in a similar position. Working above politics, dignifying and uniting the nation.

  8. I have come to believe more in the long-term outcome of The Commonwealth than The EU (to which we still belong in Sweden). The future belongs to those networks and unions which have to ask what we actually WANT and NEED, and not those trying to solve things by becoming authoritarian. Now, we, in the North of Sweden with distances and temperatures which often are just as long or deep as the situation gives in Canada, may have to face petrol and diesel prices in the region of £13 p60… Per British Gallon and SEK 40 per liter in Swedish currency. And we willingly gave the EU the power to do it, now it is a long-term decision.

King Charles has praised The Commonwealth and rightly so. Go on developing that institution. It is one of very few unions of nations there is, where both those in- and outside of them only seem to have good things to say.

It takes a century to create such a union, and the haste to move powers from the nations to Bruxelles should wake us all up. You British did the right thing by leaving it, you just had the most appallingly bad timing. But I salute you and your King. I think you have a system built like an airplane: its strength comes from its ability to take demanding problems thanks to the flexibility of the body.

Stay that way, and you'll stay on your way. Last year's difficulties will soon be over. God Save The King!!!
