This may be a strange question, but I bought a weighted vest that came with the flags of Norway, Sweden and denmark, but not Finland, where I am from. Is it okay if I wear the Norwegian flag on my vest?

  1. As someone who has served in the Norwegian Armed Forces this «tactical» looking west with the Norwegian flag is really inappropiate if worn by someone who is not Norwegian military personel.

Civilians should not wear flags like these on clothes if you are not in the service of a country.

You will also look like a right-wing extremist. Please don’t put our country in that light.

  2. Norway, Sweden, Denmark = Scandinavia

    above + Finland/Iceland = Nordic

(Apparently Nordic countries also include Farøe, Greenland and Åland autonomeous regions)

  3. We might find it kinda weird, but in an endearing way, you go ahead!

The exception, of course, is if linked to “pride in the race” or any remotely racist crap, then it’s a strong ***NO***.

The style of the vest gives off a little bit of a paramilitary vibe tbh, and American fascists love to fetishize any nordic heritage, so bear that in mind so you’re not mistaken for one.

  4. Why use flags at all in that case? And what is the west for??? If ur planning a terrorist attack pls dont use norways flag lo

  5. Its Ok for me!

It really depends on how stupid your neighbors are, some time back, I read that a restaurant in the US had to remove their Norwegian flag because people was confusing It for the confederate flag. People are stupid I guess.

Just don’t write anything in old Norske, then people are definitely going to think your a nazi or something 😂

    EDIT:

Sorry, I did not read the headline properly, I thought you was from the US. If you from Finland I don’t see any problem with It at all. I know Finnish people know the difference between the Norwegian and the confederate flag.

  6. It’s ok aslong as you learn Skål, since I learned “Ølkun Kølkun” in the army from some of your officers (thats the way it sounded for me, the writing is a bit off…)

  7. I think there’s no law against it, if that’s what you’re asking. Had it been the coat of arms it would have been illegal

  8. i don’t think so, the only thing i can think of is if you are in the US, they might mistake it for the confederate flag( yep people are that stupid) and its never a good look to be associated with racist loosers, even if mistakenly.

  9. I would trust none but you Finns in a kerfuffle with Putin. Wear it well, and make us proud brother!

  10. It’s kind of weird to represent a country you aren’t actually associated with. Is the flag important/needed for something?

  11. If it’s for airsoft or paintball it’ll turn you into one big target lol. Red can be seen for miles.

  12. That’s really an odd question, just wear it dude. Honestly, no one cares lol of course if you were planning to do something bad while wearing it this would be a problem, but then again I don’t think you would be here asking that question if this was your plan. If it’s just for sports, people will likely not even notice it, or care enough.

I wear a Canada Goose parka that has a fairly big Canada flag on it and even so no one ever asked me if I’m Canadian 😂

Also, it’s nice of you for asking, but you really shouldn’t care too much about what people will think. It’s your life, live it the way you want. You can never please everyone, so don’t waste your time trying.

As long you are not doing anything illegal or purposefully trying to offend someone, you simply shouldn’t avoid doing something you want to do just because you think someone will not like it. It’s 2022, there will always be someone offended by something, if you worry too much about it, you won’t leave your home. Heck, there’s probably someone out there right now offended because you are doing sports thus consuming more oxygen than a person who doesn’t do sports 😂😂

Just do what makes you happy!

  13. Probably cause Finland isn’t part of Scandinavia. Also as long as you don’t do anything dumb intentionally I see no problem with it. A bunch of Norwegians wear shirts with American flag designs

  14. might look less suspicious if you just duct tape a couple 5kg plates around you, wait that might make you look even more suspicious..
