  1. Forgetting about the quality of this content, putting the video in a tiny square with a massive black box around it is disgraceful.

*Back in my day* if you uploaded a portrait photo instead of a landscape one, it was a paddling.

  2. Oh the irony of filming in one of the most expensive offys in Dublin. All top shelf wine, no €8 bottles in sight.

  3. Popped into Tesco yesterday to pick up a bottle of wine for my father. It was a crazy high price
almost €16 with an uneven cents at the end made to look like it was the minimum price under MUP. A quick look around and everything was excessively priced. So noped out of there and got the same bottle in Dunnes for €10.

If someone as big as Tesco is excessively charging for alcohol now, I’d imagine many of the smaller offies are doing the same and are trying to take advantage of people’s expectations.

  4. The greedy cunt that owns the only shop in my area (Centra) increased the price of his already dearer-than-other-places drink in line with the MUP increase…and then threw another 2 Euro on top of that again.

  5. It’s little consolation, but think about how fun a beer run up north will be when you find yourself up there for some reason.

  6. This alcohol price hike is a good thing imo. Binge drinking in Ireland is really too normal. Binge drinkers on the dole etc. Even the full time working citizens binge drinking daily talk to non drinkers like peasants for no reason as if being an alcoholic is cool and great…….

  7. This is why I bought six cases of Bud in Tesco for €15 each at Christmas time. It would of been twelve if my house mate wasn’t moving out

  8. If the lads in prison can make alcohol from spuds and orange peel then we can surely do it ourselves on the outside.

We need a Reddit sub to swap recipes..

  9. So is this a tax to enforce morals? I’m in the US and we still have blue laws that limit sales in some counties. Dry counties have a higher rate of alcohol related deaths than wet counties.

  10. One mistake here; craft beer is still the same price. Literally all the beer I drink (yeah, I’m one of those guys) is exactly the same price so, for me, nothing has changed.

I’ve also been into Lidl and Aldi and it looks like the prices of the cheaper stuff hasn’t changed either but I don’t always pay much attention to those prices, so I may be wrong. Is it just the really, really cheap stuff that’s now more expensive?

  11. Any (ROI) border county offys must be fucked, how can they possibly hope to survive. Easy for me as a customer can pop over to the North and buy my booze but those businesses are doomed.
