Some of the charges against him are pretty pathetic:
– Throwing a mobile phone on two occasions nearly 12 years ago.
– Staring hatefully at an employee 11 years ago.
‘Ghosting’ a staffer on an plane.
– Swearing at an employee on an uncertain date in 2009.
– Making a racially and sexually discriminatory remark on an unknown date. The accuser couldn’t recall the specific remark.
Interestingly, Bercow was cleared of these charges but the committee leader decided to overrule the decision.
Still. If they want to hold MP’s to a very high standard I am absolutely fine with that! And I can’t wait for them to use this new code of ethics on other cleared cases against Boris, Patel, Truss and Raab…
> If the verdict is upheld, he could be banned from parliament for life or face a censure motion.
That’s pretty hefty. I thought the penalty for bullying was a half-arsed apology and a dollop of gaslighting?
It’s important to remember that he did this bullying when he was a member of the Tory party, so it’s understandable.
Now he’s a Labour party member he won’t do such behaviour.
Priti? Not a bully. Despite lots of evidence.
Bercow? No Lordship and labelled a bully.
This government is transparent. Fall in line or else.
Hey, fine, if they want to bring him up for this, bring up all the Tories who haven’t left the party for their opposition. Until that date, it’s just spite and worth ignoring.
