The country became the 32nd member of Nato after it applied to join the alliance in the wake of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. ‘Sweden has come home,’ said Swedish prime minister Ulf Kristersson, while thanking Stoltenberg for his support throughout the process.

  1. It feels fantastic that we now belong to the world's strongest guarantee for peace and democracy. Now pretty much all nations with Viking roots are gathered under the same flag. In combination with Finnish SISU, we are a force that will make a difference. A happy day worth celebrating/ Love to our allies/ Adam

  2. Ahhhh …. The Baltic sea …. If the Russian navy are now too afraid to sail in the Black sea, somehow I don't think they'll be switching operations to the Baltic 🤭

  3. You know you’re on the wrong side of history when a 200 year old neutral country since the age of Napoleon joins against you.

  4. Come home?, PATHETIC
As a native Swede i have the right to express my disgust over this ruling and denial of election. This process was both nondemocratic and appalling.
This unholy union will not survive.
