There was a thing on the radio, talking about the World Cullen Skink Championships which were going on, anyway, the person talking mentioned "Blaggis", which is apparently a mixture of black pudding and haggis. In this case it was balls of blaggis, served as appetisers.
This is the first time I've heard of Blaggis. And I am a bit curious to be honest.
Anyone heard of this ? tried it ? make their own ? Is it any good ?
Edit since people are asking:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn04xzdz521o the World Cullen Skink Championships were held on Sunday.

No but I now have to find it
Hang on. Ye cannae just say “world Cullen skink championships” and move on like it’s a perfectly normal sentence.
Never heard of it but sounds good.
Let’s get this World Cullen Skink Championship business out the way first and then we’ll discuss Blaggis…
The burger van down the road from my work used to do it. Blaggis Friday became a solid tradition until the burger van shut 🙁
Should have gone the other way and called it hag pudding.
Like others, I’m taken by the idea of the Cullen Skink World Championship! It’s something the Cullen tourist initiative run and [the info about the 2024 event is here](https://discovercullen.com/cullen-skink-world-championships-2024/)
Can’t say a have but a made Blurgers once and they were top notch
I’ve had it in a restaurant in Oban as part of a chicken dish.
Pie Sports – who run catering at a couple of football stadiums – do a Blaggis Pie. Very nice it is too! 🥧
Mmmm. Blaggis

I’ve had both on the same roll.
Another stupid BBC Scotland story.
Dalmeny Park (& probably other hotels in the owning group) has a haggis & black pudding starter which is _very_ nice.
Zanres in Peterhead sells Blaggis pudding suppers
I had blaggis bon bons as a posh starter once and it rates in the top 5 meals I’ve ever had. incredible
This is weird because I was in down the coast at Girvan and went into Grazianos Harbour Cafe for a fish supper last week and seen Blaggis on the menu. Never heard of it before.
Obviously it was added to the order. It was basically a black pudding and a haggis had been cut length ways then jammed together, then battered, then fried. I had thought that it was going to be a custom mixed pudding, but it was more like Frankenstein’s pudding. Had a few bites of it as a combined unit, then decided to eat the black pudding first as it’s not as good as my local chippy (their black pudding is incredible).
I’d also like to note that the fish and chips was first class and the whole episode was a very enjoyable experience.
Ooo – would try that!
Also love the idea of a WORLD Cullen Skink championship.
There’s a place in Aberdeen – Mac’s Pizza- that does blaggis on pizzas. It’s tasty
Stornoway blackpudding is amazing.
Campbell prime meat sells blaggis. Tastes like it can’t make up it’s mind what it wants to be though.
Blaggis sounds like some vegetarian/vegan version of Haggis tbh
Had blaggis balls a few times, they’re amazing!
I had never heard of it till I saw it on a menu at a chippy in Girvan. It was good – but then I like black pudding and haggis
I had haggis and Stornoway Black Pudding Bon Bons tonight. I have never heard that mix called Blaggis. Feckin tasty with chilli jam.b
Ma work does a black pudding and haggis pizza and never once have I considered calling it Blaggis. I’m so disappointed in myself. I fuckin love a portmanteau anaw
It’s fucking class is what it is
