A local councillor here posted it on their Facebook just to give you an idea of the mental acuity of our elected officials
It was probably a test by the russian propaganda wing to see how the story spread. Preparing for the big elections coming up…
TIL that the utterly insane speculation we’ve had minus the royal house updates that they aren’t doing, has led many to believe the worst is in fact russian propaganda.
That’s some mental gymnastics right there.
The UK is a gossip hotbed, and it doesn’t require Russian influence on that part, and the utter lack of updates means that people will believe anything is a mere hint of an update on this situation.
Blame Russia, but the royal press are failing here, and it’s letting idiots fill the vacuum to join the dots.
I can’t believe he’s dead. And after waiting all those years to become king! Gone too soon, just like Liz Truss.
I was following the drama on Twitter this morning, I don’t think it started from russia, but there were a lot of bots saying that King Charles had been killed by Trysha Pytas’ womb, you may recall people saying her daughter was joking reffered to the reincarnation of Queen Elizabeth after being born around the same time she passed. I assume it was ChapGpt fuelled bots trying to capture engagement as Twitter is now monetized.
Desire for drama, engagement, and being the first to break the story (clout et al), all it then needs is a media outlet to push into that.
Do you think the Russian people enjoy their government and media’s position as being the playground shit-stirrers of the world?
Hypothetical: the king and then next 16 in line all randomly drop dead. What difference does it make?
Number 17 in line is a privately educated member of the landed gentry who dresses in military uniforms covered in medals for nowt, goes through the motions and lauds it up in palaces across the land earning £25m per annum. Same as it ever was.
There have been a few ‘half-mast flag’ photos on Reddit today, I noticed…
To be honest I’m not surprised if many people fell for this; my mum seemed to think they were dismantling the London eye to parade it in the next local town over after seeing some ‘official looking’ article on Facebook
