[Sportmediaset] Video of Francesco Acerbi saying “Sorry, I’m not a racist” to Juan Jesus and then he follows up by pointing to Marcus Thuram and saying more things.
Just pure stupidity from him. He’s either a racist or a dumbass. Or both.
“I’m not racist, I have black teammates!”
Man I’ve loved Acerbi. He’s been great for us and everything I’ve read about him before yesterday has led me to believe he’s a good guy.
I’m trying not to hang an innocent man, but none of this looks good at all.
If it’s true, he’s gotta go. I hope somehow it’s not true
I think the fact that JJ was willing to drop it and move on out of respect for his former club and a hope that Acerbi just lost his mind does not look good for him. I always liked JJ when he played for us and he never really engaged in theatrics so this seems like completely unacceptable behaviour from Francesco.
I hope the club stands up for JJ, firstly as a human being, and second as a former player that loved the club.
The only thing throwing me for a loop here is that JJ is not explicitly saying what happened. He was dismissive of it in the post game interview. If JJ at any point says directly that racism was the case I would be in favour of a Serie A matches ban for Acerbi and beginning the process to release him from the squad. From what I gather, lip reading, body language and speculation are all we have to go by. If racism did indeed happen I wish JJ wouldn’t shield it just cuz it’s his former club, but expose the truth.
