  1. Hey everyone, this is a fantasy tube map I created, using Sameboat’s Wikipedia map as the template, with some additions that have already been proposed, along with some extra ones that I would like to see. Some changes aren’t visible as they’re on the National Rail, but explaining them will be necessary to understand some the changes I have made.

    Additions (official proposals):

    – Crossrail 2 (which I have named the Brunel line, after both Marc Isambard Brunel and Isambard Kingdom Brunel)
    – The Bakerloo line extension to Lewisham (I have also added the speculative extensions to Beckenham Junction and Hayes)
    – The DLR extension to Thamesmead (it’s about bloody time!)
    – Old Oak Common (I have also added the speculative new stations of Hythe Road and Old Oak Common Lane)
    – The Elizabeth Line extensions to Gravesend and Staines
    – A new tram line from South Wimbledon to Sutton
    – A new Overground line from Hendon and West Hampstead to Hounslow (currently nicknamed the West London Orbital, but I named it the Aerodrome line, as the first Aerodrome in the entire UK was in Hendon)
    – A new interchange with the Central line at Shoreditch High Street

Additions (stuff I added in myself):

    – Changing the other Edgware Road station’s name to Church Street Market
    – Changing the Bethnal Green tube station’s name to Bethnal Green Gardens
    – Renaming Bank and Monument to City of London
    – Adding Bethnal Green to the rush hour special branch of the Elizabeth line (and Greater Anglia)
    – Splitting the Weaver line in two, naming the Chingford branch the Mildmay line (since that’s the line that actually has Mildmay Hospital), changing the line currently called the Mildmay line to the Suffragette line (since, honestly, any line can be called that), and changing the current Suffragette line’s name back to the Goblin
    – Adding new stations on the Suffragette line at North Kensington and Stamford Bridge
    – Extending the Suffragette line to Kingston via Twickenham
    – The Metropolitan Line extension to Watford Junction (This was officially proposed, but cancelled – unlike the official proposal, I’ve kept Watford tube station open, and renamed it Cassiobury Park)
    – Extending the Metropolitan line one stop to Tower Hill
    – Closing Tower Gateway and replacing it with a new interchange station with Tower Hill on the branch to City of London
    – Further extending the Bakerloo line to Orpington
    – Splitting the Edgware-Battersea branch off of the Northern line and naming it the Western line (which TfL have said they’ll only do if Camden Town gets a capacity upgrade)
    – Extending the Western line to Clapham Junction (which TfL have said they’ll only do if Clapham Junction gets a capacity upgrade)
    – Splitting the Edgware Road-Wimbledon branch off of the District line and naming it the Pearson line, after Charles Pearson, who helped legislate for the creation of the London Underground)
    – Closing the Olympia branch of the District line (because it’s pointless and stupid)
    – Closing Cannon Street station (because it’s an entirely pointless station, both on the tube and National Rail – Mansion House and City are both within walking distance)
    – Making Turnham Green an official Piccadilly line station
    – Cutting the Uxbridge branch of the Piccadilly line back to Rayners Lane
    – Extending the Waterloo & City line to Alexandra Palace via the Northern City line, and to Crystal Palace via Elephant & Castle, Peckham, Honor Oak, Dulwich and Sydenham Hill
    – Adding Surrey Canal and Brixton to the Windrush line
    – Extending the Windrush line to Hounslow via Chiswick
    – Extending the Victoria line to Leytonstone, and then transferring the Leytonstone-Hainault branch of the Central line over to the Victoria line
    – Extending the Victoria line to Croydon via Herne Hill, Streatham, and Selhurst
    – Reinstating the Edgware-Mill Hill branch on the Northern line (yes, I know, they built gubbins in the way, but it’s the Underground, we could just build underneath them)
    – Adding an Eastern branch to the Brunel line (This has been speculated, but it’s not been said officialy where this would go, other than Hackney Central – I’ve taken it to Stratford International, Barking, and then along the c2c branch to Pitsea, with new stations at Castle Green (Renwick Road), Beam Park (Marsh Way), and West Thurrock (Stoneness Road) – I also renamed the three stations between Grays and Pitsea)
    – Adding a new Eastern Tramlink network to add rail connections at places that don’t currently have any (like Collier Row, Harold Hill, Aveley, and South Hornchurch)
    – A new interchange with the Elizabeth line at Royal Oak

Additions to National Rail that change this map:

    – Southern Crossrail (replacing Waterloo East with a direct rail connection between Waterloo and London Bridge) – this would result in the closure of Charing Cross station; I also closed the Northern line station as well, and renamed the Bakerloo line station back to its original name of Trafalgar Square
    – The closure of London Fenchurch Street, replacing it with a new six-platform terminus at London Tower Hill
    – The opening of a new six-runway airport on the Isle of Grain, London Britannia Airport, which would reduce the role of Heathrow and lead to the closure of Terminals 3 and 4 (leading to Terminals 2 and 5 being renamed the East and West terminals, respectively) (It would also lead to the closure of London City Airport, resulting in the DLR station being renamed Silvertown, and Southend Airport, resulting in that station being renamed Rochford South)
    – The addition of Ilford to Greater Anglia

  2. This is nicely put together! Well done.

Especially like the shape/angle of the circle line.
