    They don’t send them out to get killed. They feed them enough and respect them.

    Those soldiers didn’t get treated like dogs. Not even close.

    Maybe rats? Laboratory rats.

  4. I have absolutely ZERO sympathy. They deserve it if they go to another country to fight in a war of aggression. He liked the money. Also these people should be put on lists and not allowed to set foot in the west ever in their lives.

  5. I have sympathy for the ones who were duped and don’t want to fight at all. In Cuba, they were misled about construction jobs (Cuba’s economy is so terrible right now that Russia looks good in comparison) and ended up being gang pressed into the military. Cuba even issued an official statement decrying it, which is….very unusual (to be critical of Russia). I was surprised it didn’t get more media coverage. I also have some sympathy for the ones who were duped coming from India.

    These guys seem to have signed up willingly, though, for the most part.

  8. When you are poor, no opportunities for jobs, corrupt government, went through decade long civil war, you’d do anything to feed families and provide better life. This is just sad truth of Nepal.

    Do you know Nepal opposes Russia’s war on Ukraine? Do you know any imports from Russia is banned? Do you know Nepalese are fighting for Ukraine as well?

    Just want to point out that this is not by choice.

  12. That’s sad. When you consider child labor, surviving on $1.50 – $3.50 a day (per person) women being married before the age of 18, and the obvious lack of education, it’s no wonder men seek labor outside of the country.

    Their government needs to start schools to educate everyone, and lift them out of the economic hole that they’ve dug for them.

  14. I really wish the UK had treated the Nepalese a lot better than what we did. It was a tragedy on our part. They could be fighting for Ukraine instead right now.

  20. When you offer an impoverished population, thousands of US$, they will risk it. They’re not pro Russian but desperate. The Russians are assholes who need fodder, because Russian troops can’t fight and they are racists by holding out sending their blue eyed, blond haired Russians holed up in Moscow for their military parades. Forcing Chechnians and far east Asian Russians from Siberia to fight.

  25. Alot of these people come to Russia on the guarantee of work. But the work is joining the military. Their passports are kept by the gvt so they can’t even escape to another country.

  34. The treatment the Russian Federation (and all prior Russian govts) gives even its better troops in this and every war should warn anybody off of fighting for Russia. RF is famous for sacrificing even it’s own people for the fun of it and enthusiastically showers medals on war criminals in particular. Regardless of this guy’s experience, the horrid Russian and Belorussian record of coercing and tricking people into becoming cannon fodder or to be weaponized as refugees to disrupt the EU are all too frequent recurring events.
