  1. u/WickerMan111 has had it on repeat since it was released.

  2. More importantly,

Who thinks these lists are based on viewer statistics rather than just being advertising for shows or movies?

  3. It’s about as “Irish” as a box of Lucky Charms 🍀

  4. I watched it, Irish I didn’t. It was clearly written by a racist AI.

  5. I think you only have to watch like 2 or 3min of these before Netflix counts it as being ‘watched’. Thats not even long enough to get through the credits & realise how shite they are.

  6. I watched Damsel with my partner and she loved it. I also enjoyed it but not to the same extent. Worth watching on a rainy day.

  7. I am, we watched Irish wish on paddys day.

It was as expected, terrible but not offensively so.

  8. The wife and I watched it, it was a hot mess and we loved it.

    Great for slagging.

  9. I watched it because curiosity and because I thought it might be one of those movies that is so bad that it’s good or even funny and let me tell you… it is complete and utter bullshit, like really really fucking bad

  10. Judging by my instagram over the last few days, lots of people

possibly for ironic reasons, possibly not

  11. This film is deplorable, shameful, a scourge on what it means to be authentically irish. Zero stars and would highly, highly recommend lol

  12. I mean it’s posts like this that cause it. There’s been at least a post a day about this since it came out. In turn it drives more people to watch it, which in turn brings it to number 1.

Personally I haven’t seen a single scene from the movie yet, just constant pictures of the movie cover like this one with a caption along the lines of “DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE”. Now you don’t need to be a psychologist to know that’ll obviously make more people want to watch it

  13. A few of my mates watched it and drank and took bets on what formulaic shitty movie thing will happen.

It devolved into angry roaring and we continue to shit talk it.

“James , you bastard! “ is a good line though because of how shite it is

  14. My old man watched it. Fell asleep. So stuck it on to finish it yesterday.

You can blame him for getting it ranked so high with his double viewing

  15. you know this list is BS. its what they want to push out to people rather than what people watch.

  16. Irish Wish looks dreadful but honestly I didn’t mind Damsel.

Yes it was shit, and cringey for sure, but I watched it on a Sunday morning after a breakfast roll enjoying a joint with the GF. It was entertaining

  17. It is not something I would ever watch but people like easy watching stuff, nice scenery, romantic comedies and Lindsay Lohan still gets a lot of love for Mean Girls. I know the plot from the trailer and Irish stereotypes would make me want to pull my hair out. I just take it I am not the target audience.

  18. So strange how the main Irish lad has one of them fake diddly dee accents, his brother has a nordie accent and their parents are straight up posh English.

  19. I watched damsel out of curiosity, and while I didn’t find it riveting, it was a nice popcorn piece.

Irish Wish, I have no desire to see.

  20. Damsel was at least good.

Like, compared to what Netflix has offered in the past, it had the potential to become cult classic good, because it doesn’t mince words about the situation and comes to a pretty natural conclusion.

  21. I watched it out of morbid curiosity. Mildly offensive and some terrible costuming for Saint Brigid but not nearly as bad as some of the others like Wild Mountain Thyme or Leap Year.

  22. I’ve seen a fair few people in FB groups talking about how bad it is. And a lot of people saying they are gonna watch to see how bad it is. Its a vicious cycle!

  23. We feckin love watching stuff that’s been filmed there and announcing the locations as we recognise them

  24. I watched it for the craic on Paddys day!

Sure was a bit of a laugh when you try not to take it serious

  25. I think my mam watched the first one for like 10 minutes.

  26. I’m in the US but this film literally started autoplaying yesterday from my Netflix homepage lol (not just the little preview, but rather the film itself in fullscreen) so that may also be inflating things

  27. I watched Irish Wish on Paddy’s day with the husband. Brilliant entertainment- irish scenery absolute cringe dialogues a mad trip with St brigid😂 we had a great time. Lots of laughs.

  28. My wife would definitely watch this. And I’d come into the room and ask “what’s that you’re watching?” And she’d reply, “I don’t know what it’s called, I just put it on.” To which I’d say, “you didn’t even read the title, you just saw something, hit OK, and forgot everything about it?” She’d then lovingly tell me to fuck off.

And I’d know well she’d know what it is. And she’d most likely enjoy it. And that’s grand.

  29. The sheer number of Paul Kennedys in Ireland watching it to hear their name lol
