  1. lol backtracking on what their CEO has said for years. My guess is the ol’ finance department finally told him how much he was losing on commercial real estate.

  2. Fucks sakes, if it is that important to you, Dell, fire them

  3. Dell is still around? I thought they were bought up and folded years ago.

  4. The WFH battle is probably where a smaller company get easily get a leg up on talent over the bigger companies. If you can’t pay someone as much, or offer as many perks, but you will let them WFH, you might get the person.

  5. The same people that buy Dell products are the same people that think Bank of America is a good financial institution.

  6. My experience with Dell (it was many years ago) was that it was a kill or be killed culture. Backstabbing your fellow employee was encouraged so that the most vicious could rise to the top. That they are now penalizing the people who avoid the office and all that comes with it is no surprise.

  7. Nobody gets put up for promotion. Companies stopped promoting from within 20 years ago.

If you want a promotion then you leave the company for a few years and come back.

  8. You won’t be given more responsibility for the same pay, and a bs title change. Sounds like a win for workers.

  9. I honestly don’t know what will happen if they try to push everyone back to the office. I barely saw my own kids before the pandemic. I can’t imagine going back to that. I also don’t know how everyone would afford the additional expense of commuting and child care.

I know not everyone is able to work from home, but damn. I don’t want to go back when it isn’t necessary and I have so much to lose.
