2. Lack of sulphur in diesel fuel for commercial shipping reduced cloud cover over oceans, the rule took effect in 2020 but widespread compliance did not occur immediately, open ocean has an albedo of 0.03-0.05, thin clouds 0.3-0.5 thick clouds 0.9.

   This is purely the result of oceans absorbing more solar energy.
