Tanks sent to Ukraine are now just pricey artillery, thanks to drones

  1. more like land mines, rockets, and artillery. drones are good for finishing them off i guess.

  2. No point in holding on to them then, we might as well send them all to Ukraine and be done with it.

  3. From the article:
“Yes, tanks are vulnerable at the tracks, but there is always a race between weapons that penetrate and disable and the shielding that protects this. When one side gets the edge, that’s where the fight is won. If you don’t have tanks and the other side does, that puts you at a huge disadvantage”.

  4. I beg to disagree

Yes the drones are another vector to attack a tank

But I would never dismiss having a big iron clad chunk of metal with an 150mm gun whenever I have to storm a position

  5. Russian ones seem to be far better at blowing up when hit by drones

  6. I remember working with a Tanky and he said to me *”Why would I want to carry a weapon, when my weapon can carry me”* and it’s made me laugh reading the title imagining him, wherever he is in the world now, huffing and puffing at the fact you’re probably right 😂
