Today is the 1 year anniversary of Kane Te Tai’s death in Ukraine. This is a video with some thoughts from his mother on how it feels to lose your son fighting for Ukraine.

    Can’t imagine her internal conflict and heartache.

    For some context; NZ gets bare-minimum coverage of Ukraine’s invasion. I’m sure many people in NZ can’t comprehend Kane’s decision, but for sure it was righteous and noble. From what I’ve read and seen, he seemed like a warrior and a helper to his core. A huge loss to our wider community, but he’s left his mark on history
