Should I be grateful that for once it is not the USA that is batshit crazy?
So, if I understand correctly the deal is that if you do the crime and your motivation is based on an underlying belief in future climate damage you cannot use that as a defense? Seems reasonable. It is similar to: I killed my neighbor because I was afraid he would become the next Hitler. I should be seen as a hero!

This is why we’re in trouble.
The Conservative government has been a disaster for the UK, just like conservative governments have been a disaster everywhere else.
Year 2200. Earth’s population is 2 billion.
Court lifts the ban on climate change as a possibile scenario for the current stare of affairs.
Also, Brexit was the right choice considering only 90% English live in poverty and the 10% are fine inside the Walls of London.
The train going off the cliff is a matter of opinion based on your perspective. Are you the train company owner, the track maintenance person, the passenger or the conductor? Each have a very different view of the pending doom.
Accelerating climate change may perhaps be a matter of opinion for the unnformed except, not for the insurance business for which it is a known and increasingly expensive underwriting risk.
