Tepedelenli Ali Paşa was an Albanian warlord who became an Ottoman Pasha. He was given command of Turks and Albanians to crush Greek and Slavic rebels. He became the semi ruler of Albania, Greece and Macedonia, acting independent from the sultan like Muhammad Ali Pasha in Egypt.

With pressure from local Greeks, Rums and the Orthodox Church, the Ottoman sultan had to take away his command. This led him (Ali Pasha) to ally with anti Ottoman Greek rebels. Ali Pasha was declared a traitor, and was killed 1822. His head was cut of and sent to the sultan. If he had stayed loyal to the Ottoman Empire and if the Ottoman Empire had not listened to the Greek protesters, he would have most likely crushed most of the Greek rebels, turning most parts of modern Greece and ex Yugoslavia to a mostly Albanian, Turkish and mostly Muslim region. But he would have most likely become another Muhammad Ali Pasha, recognizing the decline of the Ottoman state, the Ottoman army and division of the Ottoman society, which would have led him to create his own state.
Balkan Chad or Karen?
A tyrant, a lover of a Greek girl and mortal enemy of Suliot Albanians. In the end, everyone and even his sons and nephews turned against him, except Suliots, which is so ironic. Game of Thrones vibe.
