I know the same question has been asked 3 years ago on this subreddit, but I need more information.
kleinanzeigen.de seems like a great well-established place. However, all comments I've read emphasize on the importance of "picking up the parts myself and testing them" and not having them sent to me. This seems reasonable but there are 2 problems with that:
- How can I test a certain part (say CPU) if I don't have the other parts already. I can understand what you mean if I am buying/upgrading a certain component but I am building a PC from scratch and I need to buy several things second-hand.
- Many of the sellers that have the parts I need live far away (100+ kilometers) and of course that creates the difficulty that even if I picked up the part myself, I need to commute hundreds of kilometers and not only that I have to also drag the rest of my PC with me (assuming it is complete but missing one component for testing).
Now these seem like basic questions I know but seriously how do people expect me to "pick-up the parts myself and test them on the spot?"
This is my first PC build and I have zero experience in second hand electronics, can someone please shed some light?
