…is this one of those streets that you aren’t supposed to drive on?
Wow. I had no idea how beautiful
I always thought that our bombing in the war levelled Dresden. It’s nice to know some of the history survived.
Not pictured: The sound of the most nervewrecking and unharmonic church bells in the world. When one church bell stops ringing another one starts. We counted continuos ringing for almost ten minutes.
I went to Dresden last year.
Honestly loved everything about it. Would highly recommend going.
Civilisation
Does Dresden still have bombed churches untouched, as they were in 1981 or have they cleaned everything up yet? I think it was originally supposed to be a reminder of what the allies did during WW2…
Dresden is beautiful and well worth a trip!
The city, including the Frauenkirche (women’s church) in the background, got devastated by air raids towards the end of WWII, but they sure brought back a lot of its glory.
A must visit…my grandmother and family barely escaped the Allied carpet bombings, she told me they saw the fires from the distance… so yeah, must visit even if I see nothing left of the devastation
feeling myself in history
