  1. Russian Intelligence an oxymoron. Putin a moron. France has plenty of weapons to send long before troops arrive. Those 75 Caesar artillery systems will make the kind of dent in the Russian frontlines that won’t buff out.

  2. Regardless of how true this is, lets add another zero, make it 20K.

    Task force baguette. ehehe

  3. A pretty big moment if it ever comes to pass.  For my entire life, its been filled with French surrender jokes. If they do get deployed, those are about to become a lot less relevant, and not nearly as funny as a punchline.

Looking forward to the day that russia becomes the surrender joke punchline instead.

  4. Good play Putin at his own game, these will be tourists and mercenaries on a special holiday operation of course

  5. Russian intelligence also predicted a 3 day operation.

  6. Even is it is true 2000 troops isn’t going to turn the tide, so if this is correct I’m assuming we’re talking about them filling various support roles, freeing up the Ukrainians to fight.

  7. I theory this works. With Western troops on the ground as peace keepers, Russian can’t attack areas with French troops, or its world war 3.

The problem is Russia is ran by fucking fuckwits, and they probably will attack the French anyway and then call it a accident.

  8. My opinion is that they are sent there to replace the combat units that are in the rear. that is, at first they will perform the functions of the police. Accordingly, the police will go to the front.

  9. I will never believe in any real military aid from France until they send more military equipment than GERMANY. In numbers, Germany sent more weapons to Ukraine.

  10. [https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/france-denies-sending-2-000-troops-to-ukraine/3169197](https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/france-denies-sending-2-000-troops-to-ukraine/3169197)

The French Defense Ministry has denied Russia’s claims that France is preparing to send 2,000 troops to Ukraine.

Comments by the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) are “indicative of Russia’s systematic use of mass disinformation tactics,” the ministry told Anadolu in a written statement.

Also, the statement emphasized utmost caution to avoid falling prey to such manipulations.

The head of SVR, Sergey Naryshkin, claimed on Tuesday that France is preparing to send a contingent of 2,000 troops to Ukraine.

In an interview with Russia’s state news agency TASS, Naryshkin alleged that French President Emmanuel Macron is concealing the true number of French soldiers already killed in Ukraine to avoid mass protests in his country.

Last month, Macron refused to rule out sending Western troops to Ukraine, where Russia launched a “special military operation” two years ago. The idea, however, was rejected by the allies.

  11. Putin knows that it will be the end for Russia if he triggers article 5 of NATO.

  12. If you pissed off French, you know you done fucked up now

  13. We the Russians are getting people fighting for them from all over the world.
    Fight fire with fire

  14. to sign the act of defeat or for what?
    I don’t believe it
    2000 doesn’t change anything

  15. Well, it’s interesting because ben Wallace from the uk also said we should be prepared to send troops to the uk. They must be talks behind closed doors about sending troops

  16. Foreign Legion? They would not be considered Official French troops?

    That’s my best guess.

  17. There is also an army of turkeys in training according to the Ruzzans

  18. Sure
    And King Charles is dead.
And Ukraine was a threat to Ruzzia

I wonder who is still dumb enough to believe what the Russian troll factories are producing days after days.

  19. France and Germany are going to invade Ukraine and take what Russia has not, then what will Puttler do? Would be funny- take Ukraine right up to Kyev! RF would be out if hospitals to bomb pretty quickly.

  20. So special forces have probably been in Ukraine for quite some time. If deployed, takes pressure off Ukrainians without fighting but not sure how probably this is within Ukraine itself. I think the immediate impact is shifting public attitude to enhance the fact that the West is involved, prepare them for war and a possible shift in the economy to address it.

  21. For once, I hope the Russian “Intelligence” is right. Get Western troops in there to guard borders to the countries not involved in the war, to help with training and logistics, to safeguard the civilian population from terror bombings.

Western diplomacy with Russia has been a farce ever since he dodged the term limit the first time and became an absurd display of appeasement after Crimea and Eastern Ukraine was invaded.

I have no wish for a larger war, but I had no wish for Crimea to be invaded nor for the rest of Ukraine to be, no wish for Georgia or Chechnya to invaded either. Yet all those things happened. Passivity, a slow creep of economic sanctions and “harsh” words at press conferences quite obviously do less than nothing.

France ought to step up economic and military aid in general, but we can still praise them for being front runners here.

  22. The words “Russian” and “intelligence” do not belong in the same sentence, paragraph, or page.
