Keep seeing this picture of Windsor Castle on FB but every time I look it looks more like a model.

  1. That’s some bugger enhancing the photo to make the castle stand out.

Did a better job than Kate though …

  2. I think it’s because the lawns and paths are too flat looking, makes them look like they were painted

  3. It looks different than what you see on Google maps/earth. There are a bunch of buildings missing where the forrest on the right is, a number of trees on the adjacent lot, pathways are a bit different as well.

  4. The The Princess of Wales took this photo with her drone using tilt-shift photography and then edited it afterwards

  5. Where’s actual Windsor? Like the shops and restaurants… Railway?

  6. Looks like some careless AI generated infilling to the right in particular.

  7. Looks like a shot from the VHSs we used to watch in school in the early 00s.

  8. Can confirm photo isn’t real…. Mostly. The grass border/trees on the right do not exist, that is the town/cobble streets. You should see the horse and groom pub, a statue of Victoria, the actual Windsor castle ticket off etc. could be a model… or just a historic representation of the castle

  9. I wonder what the inheritance tax on that would pay.

    Guess we’ll never find out.

  10. Is that the royal bedsheets on the washing line in the bottom left?

  11. I always enjoyed the fact that in the book World War Z, The Queen (Liz) refuses to leave Windsor Castle and instead turns it into (more of) a stronghold for the entirety of the war which took in a great number of survivors.

It always seemed plausible (i mean look at the place) and absolutely something she would do.

  12. Is it going to eventually turn out that the whole concept of British royalty is a combination of photoshop and Mandela effect?

  13. Destroy the Saxon scum! ⚔️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇮🇪 ⚔️

  14. There’s supposed to be a train station on the left and some buildings on the right

  15. I’ve seen this too. Nearly every image showing off a location like this that I see on Facebook is fake or heavily edited. I can’t tell if the hundreds of people commenting in awe of these photos are real or not

  16. No that’s definitely Kate at the window, it’s obviously her!

  17. As someone that makes models and uses photos editing tools, I would say this is a good model that’s been ruined by a bad Photoshop job. The lighting is a big giveaway, looks to be from a lamp and then brighten up. Some of the consolations are flat and have nsss to them. The path is clearly cardboard that’s been smoothed over, the trees have been added in with some repeating. And so many other tells. I’m certain this is a model that’s been edited.
