  1. Norway is ramping up the production of weapons and equipment. Much of it to resupply our own (and other NATO countries) stock. So yes. It generates jobs all over the place. Everything from manufacturing to servicing and logistics.

  2. Who cares? That’s shouldn’t be the reason. There are plenty of way more legitimate reasons to support. For example, Russia is allies with China Iran and North Korea and is threatening the stability of the democratic free world. “Creates jahbs” is just a by-product.

  3. Yes, most people don’t realize when we give them “aid” it’s going into American industry to produce said aid. A lot of Americans seem to think we’re just handing them all the money we’ve said we’ve given(don’t get me wrong we have given them a large sum of money but it’s a small percentage of the aid being directed their way)

  4. Yes. The bombs, shells, bullets, tanks, APC’s and artillery are not made in China.

  5. In addition to direct support from US, NATO allies are transferring older surplus US made aircraft, artillery and armor to Ukraine which in turn requires them to procure modern US manufactured 5th Generation fighters, main battle tanks, APC’s, ordinance for these major purchases. This is accelerating NATOs modernization of the individual members armed forces and requiring increased percentage of their GDP to be allocated.

This requires US manufacturing to ramp up in response to increased demand.

Also, aid to Ukraine is the right thing to do. The global order of nation states adhering to international rule of law and national sovereignty is being challenged and we must rise to its defense. Global stability is at stake.

Ukraine is fighting for their people and their right to exist. They are also fighting to protect us all.

  6. Aiding Ukraine = produce US weapons in USA to replace old weapons sold/donated to Ukraine under lend lease agreement.

  7. Yes. We don’t send them money, we send outdated munitions from our stockpile. Then we replace that stockpile with newer technology made in the US. It is a win win for US and Ukraine, but a loss for Putin.

  8. More shells for Ukraine means more jobs in Scranton, PA.

  9. Yeah, us gives Ukraine old tech, and then the money they’ve been pushing for (less the R-Maga extremists trying to block) goes to US manufacturers to then use to remake or replace older tech to replenish what’s given.

It’s a win for US economy for sure.

  10. Quick breakdown:

US mil supplies are periodically replaced to make sure they’re in top shape in case SHTF.

Older supplies are still *usually* usable and in decent shape.

We send Ukraine those supplies instead of trashing them.

We buy new stuff from our own MIC. US weapons and equipment are required by law to be primarily made in the USA.

So, Ukraine gets $X worth of gear (no actual money aside from foreign aid and assigned dollars) and the US then spends that amount on new gear *inside the US*

  11. the foreign minister of Poland explains this well at 1:50 in this short interview.

I’ve seen a few interviews where he goes more into numbers, and most military equipment is purchased from the US. the EU has given more money in total to Ukraine, so it’s not like we in Europe are asking you to pay for everything, but the US is a key player in this due to their arms production capabilities.
