There are more prussian victories in that picture than french ones. Based and Bismarck-pilled.
Also I will never forgive the brits for making the world believe Waterloo was the defining battle against Napoleon when Leipzig literally had nearly as many **casualities** as Waterloo had participating soldiers.
You put Sedan there Pierre. We know how that one ended.
You see ?
It’s that bloodthirstiness that France needs back
“guys, you wouldn’t guess it, but the biggest battles during the Napoleonic wars all involved France 🤯🤯🤯”
France is involved in every single one of these, and won about half of them, often numerically disadvantaged.
Honestly you’ve got to admire the French military ambitions during that century; possibly the most formidable military since the late Roman Republic.
“why do you judge us on the performance in the last war? There was a war 300 years ago when we didn’t embarrass ourselves 😭”
Notice that the single battle that Britannia is involved in results with the total defeat of Napoleon, as well as his exile
You are literally the only one here where one army completely surrendered. White flag jokes were all the rave in 1870.
This just… hurts.
Apparently the only thing in war we are good at is to start them
I have family that live in Solferino. It’s where the idea for the red cross began, so every year they have a memorial torchlight procession which is really cool.
The ossuary is amazing too, full of skulls collected from the battlefield.
Solferino was also the last battle in history where both combatants were directly commanded by their monarchs.
All that fighting and there are still Frenchmen left? Do French women give birth in litters?
We Brits like to make fun of the French, and it’s true that nowadays they’re just a bunch of dirty piss drinkers (we can smell them from across the channel), but it’s also true that they hold the record for the most battles won by any single nation in recorded world history. Many people forget that because of how far from grace they fell, but the revolutionary spirit does still burn in its people thankfully.
Waterloo numbers are very strange. France had between 69,000 and 74,000 which, fair enough, makes sense for the figures here. Britain and allies had around 65,000-68,000 and then a staggered reinforcement near the close of the battle of Prussians streamed in, around 45000 to 50,000 overall.
The casualties on both sides seem inflated, too. It was likely more akin to 30,000 to 35,000 French casualties and 17,000-21,000 British and Allied, with the Prussians somewhere between 5,000 and 8,000 but it’s difficult to say. Different sources obviously report very differently. The French army suffered massive desertion afterwards too.
Largest french battle ever will be 2025 in Ukraine I guess

P10 W5 L1 D4 is the definition of ‘mid table’.
