The US also tried to turn this to into Strategic Stability talks, into arms control talks. On its own, these initiatives are okay, and Russia cares about them, but they won’t defuse this crisis because this crisis is not about arms control or renewables. It’s not even about NATO, regardless of Russian demands. It’s first and foremost about Ukraine.
I feel bad for Ukrainians. Their fate pretty well tied to the whims of these useless world leaders.
