I emailed them 2 days ago requesting an appointment, because literally the recording machine on the telephone said there was nobody to pick up the phone.
7 months waiting time to see a doctor is beyond unacceptable.
Why are doctors and staff not getting the necessary help to expand and meet with the demand of the inevitable and continuous growing population?!?!

Did you get a referral by your GP?
Vorsorge means it’s not urgent so I think it’s acceptable to plan these ahead to have time for urgent cases.
I had the dane Problem, i Paid 40€ and had an appointment the next day!
Get a referral from your GP, ask for a code, call 116117 and tell them you need an appointment with that code -> appointment in 2 weeks
You can do the same on Doctolib.de after registrating there

Surprisingly enough, things in real life do not scale by video game logic.
Otherwise we’d be cranking out babies in a month by pooling resources.
Oh wow, you can just walk into my doctors office and get an appointment ….
Lol, there are too few doctors around these days, especially specialists. What are they gonna do? If you’re this upset then write your local representative and complain that they should pass legislature that makes it easier for people to get into medicine.
Bitching at the doctors who have to somehow fit all their patients into their practice times is the wrong call.
I live in Stuttgart and get appointments for specialists on average within 2 weeks. Get Doctolib and filter there.
Kinda normal. My cardiologist gave me till Sept and my dentist until end of April (was taken last December).
Call different practises, let them put you on their waiting list for earlier vorsorge appointments.
Yes, appointments for specialized doctors have long waiting periods in germany if its not urgent, but if you try a little bit more you will find someone who cam take you on ealier, I bet.
If you do have an actual problem you need an appointment for that and not “Vorsorge” which would be a regular check-up. You need to communicate better and rant less.
What city is this? Is it like that everywhere?
Vorsorge = check-up
That’s to have your body checked for any thing like cancer or similar, not a normal appointment.
If you’re sick or something that’s a Termin (= appointment).
You have to be very careful and precise in German, else you’re not getting what you want.
You can book an appointment with doctolib and turn on the notifications if someone cancels an appointment so you can get that available time window
Try with “Privat Versichert and Selbstzahler” option. I booked an appointment with the skin doctor yesterday for next week. Most of the skin doctors don’t accept “gesetzlich versichert” patients or you will get an appointment minimum after 5-6 months.
You think that’s bad?
My child needs surgery and has to wait a year for it.
Sorry to be blunt but unless people are willing to pay significantly more (and they understandably aren’t) for their healthcare this is going to be the path forward. Thousands of doctors are retiring in Germany in the coming years and there is no replacement available. Also, medical support staff is paid like sh*t so few people want to work in the sector.
Yeah, the situation is at the moment pretty bad. I got sick yesterday and tried to find a doctor for an AU, since I moved here in January, I don’t have one around here. After failing several times because the doctors don’t accept new patients, I was able to get an appointment for a videocassette from the doctor where I lived previously. It was not thar mich of a problem since I just have a cold for which I wouldn’t go to a doctor if not for the AU, bit still, quite frustrating.
It is so irritating to me that there is a huge number of people saying that waiting seven month for a doctor’s appointment (check-up or not) would be completely reasonable.
If you call a random doctor or the doctor next door who you’ve never seen before, you’ll probably get an appointment in November or not at all.
Use Doctorlib. With Doctorlib I always got an appointment within a couple of days. But you may have to drive to another part of the city to see a doctor who has a time slot.
We once needed an appointment and it was the same situation. After someone picked up i threatend with AOK etc. They suddenly gave us an appointment few days later. But Vorsorge isnt urgent
It is a Vorsorgetermin, nothing urgent..
Die Antwort ist okay, aber man hätte es vielleicht schaffen können in einem Satz mit 15 Worten nicht noch 2 Rechtschreibfehler einzubauen.
Our Healthcare system is slowly turning into the joke the US calls Healthcare
lol best health care in the world
Bro, you can communicate with your doctor by mail and your dermatologist appointment will be in the same year I’m jealous. I asked for an appointment in November they said beginning of march. Doctor wasn’t there and the appointment was pushed to April next year.
Living in the countryside is a dream /s
Do you really need a VORSORGE Termin or do you want to check something like a mole that has changed/grown? Because that’s different.
Vorsorge is not urgent. If you have something that needs tending to, then it is not Vorsorge.
You are free to go to any other doctor. I mostly use sites like doctolib or call different places when I want a sooner appointment.
That’s completely normal for Vorsorge, as you usually go only once a year and therefore get the appointment a year in advance.
I have to say for all the shit the NHS gets in the U.K. I’ve never had half the issues I have had with doctors here in Germany. Getting one to begin with was a fucking ball ache and then the doctor got pregnant so we had to look for months again and then you wait for months for an appointment and when you get there they don’t really wanna listen to you and try and get you out the door as soon as possible, I’ve had them try and give me homeopathy shit. I live in saxony, not sure what it’s like in other regions but it’s a farce here.
I need an appointment with an endocrinologist. My gyn gave me an Überweisung with an urgency code. The endocrinologist said, that they don’t take new patients, only women with PCOS and wishing children (which is not my intention to go there). Yesterday they called after my gyn send them my paperwork. They can give me an appointment in October. I now try an other doctor. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go for 116 117.
The dad of a friend of mine wanted an appointment for an ophthalmologist. He called in the summer (I don’t remember exactly because it was a few years back) with problems in his vision. They wanted to give him an appointment for October the following year. He was lucky to get an appointment in a bigger city a few weeks later. They said if he had waited so long, he might have had severe vision loss or even become blind.
That’s so frustrating
Your krankenkasse has a hotline for getting an appointment with a Facharzt – you shouldn’t be waiting longer than 6 weeks using that system
Talk to your Krankenkasse, they usually have a service to get you an appointment.
