Currently the world is deploying 1GW of renewables *per day*. Battery storage is not far behind. While these people talk about how great nuclear is, renewables are going to eat them for lunch.

Anyone interested should look up thorium. Both India and China are researching it heavily. There’s a problem in lining a liquid salt reactor, we don’t have a durable enough technology at the moment, but if that hurdle is overcome, it could power the world.
It’s important to understand that Bill Gates is invested in competing technology, so he is busy destroying thorium research as best he can. Particularly in the US.

Currently, uranium mining is a disaster for Niger. It is an economic and ecological disaster, because the uranium is mined in an uncontrolled way. One can even speak of a crime against humanity. If further mining means that pollution will continue as before, then it is better to stop.
