Manchin is not wrong really at all.
There’s even a pervasive, unfounded idea amongst moderates that Biden shut down the oil industry.

Alone in 2023 China installed more new PV than the US has in total! Same for wind power!
Lough that idiot out the door, and with him the useless reporter that‘s happy to just jot down this ludicrous stuff – any AI could have done better!
It’s not just about “taking credit”, although Biden and the Democrats deserve a lot of that for their energy policy. It’s also about debunking the Republican lies that Biden “shut down the oil industry”.
A lot of low-information Americans still believe that nonsense, along with another falsehood that Joe Biden was responsible for the high gas prices in the wake of the supply chain disruptions that happened under Trump, not Biden.
In short the US has been blessed with a spectacular economic and energy recovery under Biden after inheriting a disaster from his predecessor. The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest clean energy bill in the history of the world, while the US is also producing more O&G than any country in the history of the world.
