To think that we paid 10m euros for Arnautovic who is 35 years old and has never scored more than 14 goals per season instead of signing Retegui who Genoa paid 12m euros.

4. Does someone want to remind OP that Retegui has been a starter and only has 6 goals all season?

   Not to mention that a 25 year old wouldn’t accept a bench role. Hence why Scamacca chose Atalanta over us (although didn’t turn out for him anyway).

6. I think the Arna purchase was a mistake. But the two are not really comparable. Arna plays as a first striker. He is the only physical forward we have, so even though he is not that good, he is still important to our squad. He has provided a lot of help outside of scoring. Think of Lukaku, for example. How many times did he provide the strength required to maintain possession in the opponent’s third? This is what Arna does also, albeit not as well.
   Retegui does not do that at all. He is more of a poacher. He would be a good replacement for Sanchez.

7. Retegui has not had a good season at all. Venezuela is also not a very useful side. Arnautovic has 2 less goals than him in a fraction of the minutes. Im not saying he was a good signing, I’m just saying a 2 goal match against fucking Venezuela is really not a huge feather in his cap.

   Nothing useful is ever learned in football in a single match. Long term results and trends matter, one match is the same as zero evidence of something.

8. You should get hired by a professional team, not a lot of people are clairvoyants like you are I guess.

9. Retegui goals per 90 = 0.32

   Arnautovic goals per 90 = 0.31

   I also think Arnautovic was too expensive, but I don’t think this is the appropriate argument to make.
