Scottish Secretary Alister Jack has written to First Minister Humza Yousaf offering his assistance if the Scottish Government want to introduce a mechanism for MSPs to be recalled.

1. This does strike of Jack trolling the SG in a similar way to letters going the other way on e.g. help resolving the Junior Doctor strikes.

   However, it is bizarre that there is no recall mechanism for MSPs.

3. Obviously fuck Alister Jack, but does anyone know why there is no mechanism for recalling MSP? Was the system purposely designed that way or was it an oversight?

   I suppose back in 1999 we were in what seems like a far off land where there were certain things politicians just stood down for, either out of shame or occasionally some sense of doing the honourable thing.

   25 years later you can apparently brass neck trying to steal from us and then lie to parliament about it with the full support of your own party leadership. What a time to be alive.
