Is it because folk are using their phone while driving, and causing dangerous situations so others need to break unexpectedly?
Those truck drivers are just doing their work, let them be. They are bound by tight schedules and do what they need to and are allowed to do. Other people having to wait 30 seconds is not gonna change anyone’s day
Edit, alright, third one isn’t allowed to overtake. Fine. Still no excuse to fiddle your phone while driving and making the situation worse. Just sit those 30 secs out and continue with your day as normal

Accordeon files ontstaan doordat automobilisten een keer op hun rem tikken. 2e auto tikt 2 seconden. 3e 3, 4e 4, enz enz. Niet door vrachtwagens die elkaar inhalen.
Als jij achter een auto rijdt die 85 rijdt op een 90 weg, dan ga je er ook voorbij. Al dan niet door sneller te rijden dan toegelaten. Helaas zijn vrachtwagens begrensd anders had je daar ook geen last van.
Dus niet zeuren, je pizza is niet koud omdat je 2 min 90 rijdt ipv 120.

The cause of accordeon traffic is actually failing to maintain distance in busy traffic.
Without sufficient distance, you’ll need to brake. Even a little bit. Instead of coasting. The car behind you has to do the same, all along the chain. For each car, the effect is increased. Result: you tap the brakes to slow down a bit, 200 cars behind you the cars come to a dead stop.

We should genuinely just ban trucks from overtaking on the highway, it’d make it safer for everyone involved and would stop the entire rain discussion. Because even a single truck overtaking essentially turns the highway into a single lane road for several minutes with everyone squeezing into the left lane to try to get by.
