Anywhere else and the ruling party would be at zero considering how much they’ve wrecked the economy
This isn’t a good poll, both the opposition and AKP polls have HDP gaining more votes even in Turkish cities.
Is polling better… For now
So a CHP nationalist who has called for the invasion of Greece and the ex-MHP iYi nationalist who has called for the further invasion of Cyprus are polling above 40%. And the alternative is an AKP islamist nationalist teaming up with a MHP fascist.
What a political situation Turkey has… I feel for Turkish liberals. They are in a very bad spot.
I’ve always wondered how the HDP would perfor if it de-Kurdified and run as a progressive left wing party with no emphasis on a specific minority.
Kemalists or islamofascists, the same crap that will harass armenians, kurds and other national minorities.
Reminder that the woman in the opposition photo is literaly the Turkish golden dawn and that the other guy is a crazed nationalist, not sure what will change.
Turkey isn‘t europe, the only country that thinks so is turkey itself
CUMHUR?! I barely know her
don’t worry, erdogan will commit voter fraud or accuse them of being PKK supporters and lock them up or some shit.
WOOOOOOO
Looks like it’s (government backed) coup time
I’m clueless about Turkish politics all I know it that a lot people dislike erdogan can some explain the parties and what they stand for.
If this is true, then prepare for some distraction for this.
Can be anything like some (threatening of) war with Syria/Kurds/Armenians/Cyprus/Libya/gasfields in sea or verbal attacks on homosexuals/”the west”/NATO/refugees/Gülen/Greece/judges/newspapers/etc. Just to draw the attention of the people away from the real problems, like the state of the economy, the fires, the canal, elections and many other things.
It’s the good old rule for guys in power; distract the people from the real problems. Get them to rally under the banner. And exactly that is really easy in Turkey, considering how nationalist a significant portion of the the people are.
Perhaps similar in terms of nationalism as to the large nation states as Russia/USA/China/India. You create issues abroad so that people rally under the flag and are distracted from the real issues.
Wasn’t hdp banned cause they said they work with PKK? Im sorry if im mistaken here.
Based based based
All i see is right wing people shaking hands with more, less or extreme right wing people, it’s like come one neighbors give me a break duuudee /sigh
Those who think Turkish policy will change once Erdogan leaves are really missing the point, Erdogan has proved to be the least nationalist Turkish politician and one of the most peacefull ones, imagine the others..
Anyone who thinks Erdogan will ever democratically step down is deluding himself.
**CUM**HUR
And that’s all I wanted to say
Fingers crossed for the opposition. You guys deserve way better than Erdogan.
Is the left truly liberal or is it a lighter shade of Islamist? Especially when it comes to its neighbors: Aegean sea, Cyprus, Armenia etc..
What’s their rhetoric like when it comes to military interventions? Democracies and the rule of law?
