The HUR military intelligence agency in Kyiv said it attacked the Sergei Kotov on Monday night with naval drones. The vessel was on patrol. It sustained damage to the stern, right and left sides, and then sank, the agency said.

Ukraine has released footage showing a drone travelling towards the ship and a subsequent explosion. Further video published by pro-Kremlin channels showed the moment of impact. Gunfire and bright flashes can be seen as the vessel apparently opens fire on incoming drones. The HUR said it carried out the strike in cooperation with the naval forces of the armed forces of Ukraine and the digital transformation ministry. ‘The cost of the sunken ship is about $65m dollars,’ it added.

  1. Western media report anything ukraine does but does not report the horrific losses they are taking every day and the land they are giving up the Ukrainians are finished they couldn't fight sleep

  2. Ukraine claims to have hit the 22160-class patrol ship Sergey Kotov. Funny, the ships of this class…..Intended to perform a patrol service for the protection of territorial waters, patrolling a 200-mile exclusive economic zone in the open and closed seas, suppressing smuggling and piracy activities, searching for and providing assistance to victims of maritime disasters, ecological monitoring of the environment. These ships, or rather large cutters, are lightly armed..I guess next time they'll brag about a blown boat

  3. A "Sergey Kotov" warship Project 22160 is in realty a 1700 tons multi-role corvette with cruise/anti-aircraft missiles, a dual purpose AKM 176 cannon, multiple big caliber machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, a Ka 29 antisubmarine helicopter, and 4 "Orlan" drones, moreover its claimed by Russians to be stealthy and has a modular design to be mission adjustable… and another Russian warship is promoter to a submarine by Ukraine.

  4. It's just a matter of time before ALL the Russian Naval ships in that area are sunk. They are essentially all trapped in that area with a constant threat from these drones.

  5. Victoria Newland has gone!!!! The American Lady Macbeth herself. Handed out sandwiches and cookies at the maidan coup overthrowing Yanukovych. Caught on a phone recording deciding who the next Ukrainian president would be. Walks off to cosy coffee and cake mornings leaving hundreds of thousands of people dead, maybe a million more disfigured.

  6. losses of Ukraine – frigate Getman Sagaidachny.MPK Vinnitsa pr.1124P/patrol boat of the Island type – Slavyansk/reconnaissance ship Pereyaslav pr. 1824B/control ship Donbas pr.304/landing boat Stanislav pr.58503/minesweeper Genichesk pr.1258/KFOR Yuri Olifirenko pr. .773/ this does not count boats and small boats. Russia took away boats from another 10 patrol boats. And Russia also took the Sea of Azov… Not a bad exchange

  7. I bet that the boys in Russian navy, still alive, start wondering: When is our turn? Actually, I would like to ask from Russian bots and Putin-KGB fanboys: When is your turn to join military? Are you still feeling secured?

  8. And what is this doing to the air, lands and water. The Rubymar sank last week with 22,000 tons of ammonium phosphate sulfate fertilizer onboard plus fuel, oil, plastics and more. These ships in the oceans, the smoke from the bombing, the destruction of apartment buildings and homes and infrastructure. The death of wildlife, pets, livestock, loss of food production, and human emigration. It is all an ecological disaster which our children will pay for. No laughing matter to me….
