Many people are already working less. Automation will eventually make it where we all sit around strapped into machines that feed us. Just like Homer Simpson said when he was in the old folks home “You have liquid Potato chips!?” and he just sat there in bed sucking on the his liquid chips.
No, why would it? Businesses didn’t change to the 8 hour 5 day work week out of the goodness of their hearts. Unions fought for it. Unions are not fighting for a 4 day workweek. Businesses are fighting for a 24/7 workweek and not paying workers. They want money, they don’t want to make us happy.
How about we bring back 8 hour workdays?
Because I’m pretty sure I’ve NEVER had one.
It’s 8 hours plus unpaid lunch and breaks. Always 8.5 or 9.
