Portuguese poll for the next Parliament Elections (30 January)

  1. Some elaboration regarding the parties wouldn’t go amiss.

Are the two big ones on the left also left(ist)/socdems or what is the positioning here?

  2. Disturbing to see that the fascists are going to get more seats in parliament. Hopefully they’ll implode during the legislature, as other new and small parties did in these past years.

  3. Seems like another PS minority government incoming? PSD+IL+CDS coalition with outside support from Chega not realistic?

  4. After 25 years of economic stagnation, wherein 18 of them were ruled by socialists, and after being overrun by Eastern economies which entered in the EU much later, Portuguese people continue to prefer socialists. Certainly Freud would have a rational explanation therefor. I would call it collective Stockholm syndrome.

  5. Looks nice and boring. I like it.

While I wouldn’t mind some ambition to change things, compared to the chances of far rights or complete clowns being the hopefuls in some countries, this is refreshing.

  6. I think we will be very surprised with the outcomes. Polls can be very misleading. Same thing happened while deciding the “mayor” of Lisbon. Everyone thought Medina would win, but Carlos Moedas took the victory.

  7. Which parties support euthanasia and will make sure that the current proposal that was recently vetoed by the president will finally pass?
