*adds 1 beautiful blue glass bowl to the list of things Romans did for us*
Magnificent. Was the dye food safe?
Hopefully it will be on display at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
I would be way too afraid to hold it like the guy in the picture does. If at all, I’d hold it with both hands.
Just imagine it slips out of you hand. A bowl that stayed intact for 2000 years, and you are the one that breaks it.
But is it dishwasher safe?
Im beeing honest here. This looks so good that it is hard for me to comprehend what time it is from. It is so alien to my image of the roman times.
I have similar bowl at home. I guess history DOES repeat itself.
Looks about the same as current ones.
If you were to put this bowl up on display in a shop or market I doubt anyone would suspect it to be 1900 years old and/or of Roman make. Good thing it was dug up by a team of professional archeologists.
Is any of you with no archaeological education able to tell the bowl is ancient?
