I was curious to see if there were *province* in Italy where no player made it to the Azzurri. There were quite a few. And, more surprisingly, a few of them did not have any player who made it to serie A either…
This image replaced the old post that had a few glitches: no player from Abruzzo, and Nicolussi Caviglia in place of Pellissier (but this latter might be changing back to the original in the following couple years…).
Also, check for selection criteria on the bottom: it was not necessarily the best player, the most famous one, the most local fanbase-linked one.

The criteria should at least take into account a player’s actual link with the area.
Balotelli shouldn’t be “representing” Palermo even though he was born there, as he was raised in Brescia, something quite clear by his accent.
