Britain will no longer require COVID tests for fully vaccinated travellers -The Times

  1. I’m all for not having to fork out extra money to these testing companies – but I would still be testing anyway as I’ve managed to get a bunch of the rapid tests now.

And yes the latest wave seems to be dying down, and isn’t as bad as before, but the UK really does like being the one to just give up with all the rules/restrictions (and apparent safety of everyone).

Obviously we have to start learning to live with this long term, and if it’s getting milder then great. But just weeks ago there was talk of lockdown and there were (pointless) travel bans for countries again, and panic over everything. You’d think they’d at least go back to rapid testing for a while. I think that nakea more sense anyway (rapid test daily for a few days after travelling).

  2. Why isn’t this a full cessation? Vaccination status is no longer a reliable indicator of lack of infection. Especially the double-jabbed which this applies to.

  3. Its been theatre for a while now, testing at the borders only makes sense if you’re a country without community spread.

For countries with widespread community spread its pointless
