Ok I usually am one of the first to call for more digitalization but this simply works and is effective.
I saw a toilet that has sensors to light a red LED whenever somebody is occupying it. While there have been toilets that simply show this using a very simple mechanical display attached to the lock. I will never find out why one would add so much money and points of failure to something that was perfectly engineered already.
It’s because the population is so old here, they simply don’t want it.
The biggest mistake you can make is to digitalize everything that can be digitalized. Its the completely wrong approach and probably the most “difficult” decision to make in transformation projects.
That perfectly normal German way of counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 4, 5, 6, … You’ll never hit 10 at this rate.
Doesn’t consume energy.
Not hard on the climate.
Not invading your privacy.
Accessible user interface.
Not plastered with ads.
Functional.
Cheap.
… I fail to see the problem here.
It’s boomer friendly
“We bought the Datumsstempel in 1984!”
“But it has years up to 2999, and we are gonne use it until then! Its already paid!”
Going to a swimming pool always feels like you’re stepping back in time. That and ice skating rings. Stuck in the 80s/90s and I’m ok with that.
On the plus side: Cannot be hacked…
Our whole cities it was encrypted a month a go.
Wouldn’t be a problem if they had paper.
How can I invest in Mehrfachcoin?
looks like the U.S. record card for the covid vaccination
Jokes on you.
Our local swimming pool got a new system for the season ticket so you can use and put money on to avoid this . But it doesn’t work, for around a year now.
I always show my card, the write down the card number and someday, when the system finally works they can see if I used all the money or not. There is no way to check it now.
German digital infrastructure means: You print a fax to sign it, then scan it to pdf and send a screenshot of this pdf as email.
Edit: Of course the mail then is printed and stored in a file folder.
Are you Vasco da Gama?
Why would you want a digital record? After all, it could get wet from pool water!
Ah granda Vasco !
1982 is still here…who needs digital!
The -2 OKT broke the “computer system”. “Wrong Input” and that is why it when then from 5 to 4 again in the sequence.
Hacking the public pools Mehrfachcoin is a severe offense in Germany. This will be reported to the Bademeister.
Cut your nails
Paper is patient my friend!
1980 is that you?
That name made me think…
And then I checked the username and I was like… Compatriota!
U were swimming?
Vasco? Are you Bulgarian?
What’s the problem? This way your data can’t be hacked. And zero IT support fees.

Well, it’s definitely cheaper than a card system.
