Extremists trying to tear us apart, says Rishi Sunak in impromptu speech

In recent weeks and months we have seen a shocking increase in extremist disruption and criminality what started as protests on our streets has descended into intimidation threats and planned acts of violence Jewish children fearful to wear their school uniform lest it reveal their identity Muslim women abused in the

Street for the actions of a terrorist group they have no connection with now our democracy itself is a target Council meetings and local events have been stormed MPS do not feel safe in their homes longstanding parliamentary conventions have been upended because of safety concerns and it is beyond alarming that

Last night the Rochdale election returned a candidate who dismisses the horror of what happened on October the 7th who glorifies Hezbollah and is endorsed by Nick Griffin the racist former lead leader of the BNP there are forces here at home trying to tear us apart since October the

7th there have been those trying to take advantage of the very human angst that we all feel about the terrible suffering that war brings to the innocent to women and children to advance a divisive hateful ideological agenda yes you can March and protest with passion you can demand the protection of civilian life

But no you cannot call for violent Jihad and I want to speak directly to those who choose to continue to protest don’t let the extremists hijack your marches you have a chance in the coming weeks to show that you can protest decently peacefully and with empathy for your fellow citizens let us

Prove these extremists wrong and show them that even when we disagree we will never be disunited from our common values of decency and respect this week I’ve met with senior police officers and made clear it is the Public’s expectation that they will not merely manage these protests but police them

And I say this to the police we will back you when you take action

Rishi Sunak has claimed extremist groups in the UK are ‘trying to tear us apart’, in a hastily arranged statement late on Friday. Standing outside Downing Street, the prime minister condemned what he called ‘a shocking increase in extremist disruption and criminality’ after the 7 October massacre by Hamas and the Israeli invasion of Gaza. He also claimed democracy itself was a target as he condemned George Galloway’s victory in Rochdale’s byelection. One of the most divisive politicians in Britain, Galloway won almost 40% of the vote in a contest beset by chaos and controversy and dominated by the conflict in Gaza.

  1. What a piece of work! Such a defamatory set of claims from the man who is currently funding and supporting the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza

  2. Mr sunik is not deserve to be in that position. The great Britain is a great country. How can he deliver the speach like that. The main reason Mr sunik dosent to stop genocide in Gaza is he have his personal interest.

  3. We can all best these greedy government just don't vote I'm sick of saying it. But it's going to take all to stand up

  4. This is another bs that we keep hearing about from the Western powers. They always make up these stuff to justify any means of their own terrorist activities on other countries.

  5. I'm afraid you do not know yourself mr sunak. It is the governance of this land, that have turned into violent extremists, and you can't even see it in yourselves! Time for all of you to look within, not out at the people. If none of you can see that you are the problem, not us, then it is time you all stepped down and OUT!

  6. The worst pm ever? We've said that about every pm I'm sure. It gets progressively worse year on year no matter who's in number 10 and will continue to unless we get rid of this system entirely. The system is made for those who run it, not the left, not the right and certainly not us. Left and right extremism is exactly what these people want because as long as there's someone to blame who isn't themselves things will continue as they always have. Left and right, black and White, men and women United is what they fear. Let's get these people out of power and sort out our differences after. Fight the real enemy

  7. All those peaceful protestors protesting about an ongoing GENOCIDE. Their composure is admirable given the circumstances. All they ask for is that Rishi does something about it but Westminster just closes the curtains. Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction.

  8. If you don't like what is happening, how come you have done nothing in your power to prevent it and actively encouraged and even financed these men flooding into our nation?
