  2. Do you want some pedantry? You’re actually looking over the Lowgill Viaduct toward the Howgill Fells, which are within the Yorkshire Dales National Park but distinct from the dales proper.

    The Lake District is to your left if you’re travelling north, and the two national parks nearly share a boundary in the Lune Gorge. They’re separated by a narrow strip which contains the M6 and West Coast Main Line (which you’re on), which both run through the gorge.

  4. I absolutely adore that view. I always miss the photo op as I go past. The aqueduct or whatever is stunning
