The time frame 2001 – 2014 leaves out the peak of islamist terrorism in Europe in 2015/16.
But even then it was just a tiny share globally.
Sometimes we forget that people organize terrorist attacks every day and the reason why we don’t see them on TV is because policemen work hard to prevent them. We should really thank them for what they do and the risks they take to keep us safe.
It’s no mystery, Islamic terrorism has always been hardest on Muslims, which makes the (sometimes less than quiet) support for terrorist groups so baffling and appalling. Just the other day you had rioters in Jordan chanting that they support Hamas, it’s pathetic.
So the chart starts in 2001, the year of the 9/11 attacks, and goes on to end in 2014, the year before the start the rise of ISIS. Which resulted in multiple mass atrocities committed by Islamists.
I don’t read the Huffington post so I can’t say whether they have any specific agenda.
We need to bring those numbers up. Fuck the west xaxaxaxa
I’m wondering if there’s anything we can do about this at all. Military intervention is clearly neither welcome nor productive, as shown by the USA in the Middle East and France in Africa. Diplomatically we won’t be listened to either as most of the countries that top these lists resent the West and some are ruled by anti-democratic regimes only marginally preferable to the Islamists (and I hate to say this, but India is sliding in that direction too).
Is there anything Europe can do that isn’t either some form of neo-imperialism or else an implicit way of saying “not our fucking problem”?
One is one too many
homelands of terrorists ..shocker
It’s outdated too, 2014 is far, we’ve had a lot of terrorist attack since. Paris year 2015 alone suffered 2 major terrorist attack with 147 people that died. The one in janvier 2015 and the one in november 2015
nice
Yes among Muslims this is a well known fact that the terror attacks overwhelmingly target other Muslims and a lot of it has to do with so called “basement daees/imams” who barely have any real education gaining authority among the downtrodden part of populace in these countries who are naturally gullible towards extremists rhetoric that these imams a lot of times tend to espouse for their own usually political agendas.
Thankfully for us in Bosnia we don’t have this problem at all cause we have legal religious institution that inspects mosques from ground up monthly and searches for these renegade imams; the type imams that usually reject authority of local legal religious community, they get to be dealt with quickly.
In these other war-torn and tribal muslim majority countries they lack this type strongly organised legal religious institutions that inspect and check up with the mosques and their imams so you get all kinds of renegade and criminal type people acting as imams and recruiting people for these extremist actions against local government or vs. legally recognized religious authorities hence why there’s so many muslims being killed in these countries by people who would say they are muslims too.
It’s sad and tragic reality of these countries that theres a lot of space for the most crimi/antisocial psycho types to get religious type authority over poor downtrodden gullible locals who otherwise have nothing to live for.
I think Ukraine is now at the top of this list, terrorists have killed much more people than the combined total in this list in just 2 years since 2022
Pakistan has more than 80k. The terrorist state of the US used to do drone strikes during their “war on terror” and killed thousands of our children and women.
Eastern Europe: 0
I wonder why
Where is Turkey
That’s 420 too many
The biggest victim of radical islam is normal Muslims.
And it’s a f*cking tragedy.
How about 2002-2024 OP and then Western Europe vs USA 😛
Ye, but beside Albania and just a tiny part of Turkey there is no islamic state in Europe. But even Albania is a public state. I don’t know what op suggest? European countries are falling behind in terrorist victims and need some more or they should not complaint cause there are a lot more muslims lost their lives in terrorist attacks?
That ideology has a fundamental flaw and should never be considered as the basis for a society. The fundamental flaw of islam is treating non-believers as second-class people and not as brothers. Then it is extended to other muslims who differ in some meaningless details (shii/sunni). The founder was a killer, too…
Christianity as such has also some flaws (just not so fundamental) and Christians did nasty things to non-believers in the past, too. However, starting from the New Testament, it does not have that fundamental flaw in itself and tells people to “love thy neighbour”, regardless of faith. OK, the practice has not been perfect, but in theory it can lead to peace between people, if followed. Christianity had problems with interpretation, but at least the theory is decent.
Islam can never lead to peace, not even theoretically. Its goal is jihad and conquering the world by all means. Non-muslims are not considered worthy.
Therefore, as a foundation for the society, islam is inferior, and generally does not lead to happy societies.
When I studied Criminology in university, one of my lecturers, who used to work in counter-terrorism forensic department, told us that there is crazy amount of potential terrorism prevented in Europe. Vast majority of cases are not disclosed to the public in full detail, for legal reasons, in order to avoid causing unnecessary panic and to maintain integrity of investigations.
1 is too many
The point is, no muslims no terrorism. Poland agrees.
To be fair cartel violence should be there, they also target civilians for political influence.
I don’t think this indicates accurate data. For an example there was a civil war in srilanka from 1980’s to 2009. I mean war kinda peaked around 2006-2008 and there were way too many suicide bombs(claymores and whatnot). I kinda survived 3 suicide bombs in a one single day (within 5 hours span) on 2007. There were lot of casualties back then. I call this stats BS. FYI srilanka is not a part of India if anyone thought that it was. 🙂
Please, for over a decade the cartel kills around 10 people daily, or how many people die due to the oil and gas industry and their products…we need these infographic.
The cut off is very convenient
Where’s Israel??
Whats happening in India?
To any one of the 420, this doesn’t matter much, does it?

Still too many over here.
Weird that Israel’s not there. They’ve suffered 4,688 casualties from terror attacks since 1948: [https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/number-of-terrorism-fatalities-in-israel](https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/number-of-terrorism-fatalities-in-israel)
