Rare protests in Cuba as food crisis worsens

Spee foreign spe [Applause] foreign what’s extraordinary in the case of Cuba is that in addition to normal and typical economic downturns or econom problems you have an extraordinary Factor influencing it which is the most powerful nation in the world having as his established official policy making life difficult for the people of Cuba

For political aims after protests on Sunday um and accuse the US of interfering the United States is not behind uh these protests in Cuba and uh the actually accusation of that is um absurd I think what we are seeing is a reflection of the dire situation on the island

People took to the streets in Cuba over the weekend in a rare public show of dissatisfaction with the island’s communist government.

The protests reportedly began in Cuba’s second city of Santiago de Cuba when mothers turned up at a government building complaining that they could not provide for their children. Similar protests broke out in the nearby town of El Cobre. Cuba has been facing food shortages and power cuts, exacerbated by an economic slump and soaring inflation.

  1. People in the West especially America and the UK are fighting obesity due to overindulgence of food yet in Cuba they’re fighting for food . There needs to be a balance and what about some aid to Cuba including food parcels . We’ve helped Ukraine worldwide with multi millions of pounds and that’s great . Now it’s Cubs’s turn .

  2. Cuba 🇨🇺 has been a friend and ally of China 🇨🇳 for a long time. How are things going for that country?
    – Western Liberal Democracies which include Asian countries such as South Korea, Taiwan 🇹🇼, and Japan, are doing well,
while countries in China's orbit or even China itself are struggling.

  3. No, the cubans demand democracy and freedom! The 65 years of comunism destroyed all , that`s it! Freedom for the political prisioners in the island!

  4. Be a friend of the United States instead of Russia and China. Then you'll have a better food and resource situation. Duh.

  5. Cuban Government blames others countries for their struggles, what happened to the slogan for the people by the people, it’s one for one in power, rather blaming themselves.

  6. Let's look at facts. A few ppl just came back from Cuba from vacation. They said their wasn't hardly food. One ended up going fishing to eat. I think the governments need to step up and help their ppl.

  7. This is the time for America to embrace Cuba and bring it back into the Capitalistic system 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

  8. Just came back from there…beautiful place and super nice people. America runs the worlds, it bleeds out everyone and then victim blames.
