> Participants in a Czech-led initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine outside Europe have signed an agreement under which Kyiv will receive one million rounds of ammunition – more than was initially planned.
>
> In addition, the newspaper reported that Ukraine could receive the first batch of ammunition as early as April, rather than in June as the Czech government had publicly stated previously.
>
> A total of 15 countries have joined the Czech initiative,
>
> (…) at least 800,000 rounds of ammunition, a number that could potentially rise to 1.5 million.
Another source, again quoting Corriere della Sera:

That would be so great! Hope it will happen. Slava Ukraini.
April showers bring sunflowers
Less talk, more action.
And, ACTION!
Shipments begin in April with a total anticipated delivery of 1 million shells (perhaps roughly split between 122mm and 155mm), plus maybe upwards of another 500,000 potentially to be purchased, plus another 500,000 (and the potential for more) from EU contracts.
So not 1 million shells received within the month of April, most likely, but probably a 2024 total of perhaps 2 million shells from the EU and individual EU countries + close neighbors (like Norway and the UK).
Also need replacement artillery barrels.
Thanks BRICS 🤭
If France manage the extra Ceasers as well then it could be rich pickings for a Summer harvest of Ruzzians….👍
Feels they need these and extra howitzers ahead of the expected offensive by Russia in may/june
It strikes me that the only thing worse for the US than not supporting Europe, is a Euope that doesn’t need US support.
A Europe that realises that miltary spending supports its own economies and develops an industry that protects its people.
A Trumpist world where the US does not want allies, and the world no longer looks to the US for leadership. And when the US relinquishes that leadership role, it’s continued decline will be inevitable. Like the UK, caught in an expensive dream of the past.
For fucks sake US. $60b in a $6t budget is 1%, most of which is spent in your own economy. To cripple one of your two global rivals for the next 50 years and free you to focus on the other. To maintain your relevance and trade in the developed world. And because democracy, wherever it can be found, must be protected and nurtured to create a world in which the US can thrive.
And yet, all that is just to discuss money and politics. People are dying. Slava Ukraine.
Article contents **do not** match the headline:

Oh man. This waters my eyes. Slava Ukraini! Anf we should start to plan the next 1M batch now.
Czechoslovakia single-handedly holding the line
The Czechs have done really well without a lot of fuss and public statements. It’s not much but it’s honest work

Good! How can we get them there faster?
