Boris Johnson must resign in national interest, says Keir Starmer

  1. Resign in Labour’s interest perhaps not. Boris’ clown antics provide plenty of ammunition for Labour.

If he goes then Keir may wish for the devil he knew given the possibility of a Priti Patel bid.

  2. Telling Johnson to resign in “the national interest” is a clever use of language which is exactly what I’d hoped to see from Starmer. The Tories constantly use that phrase like a slogan to frame their policies as necessary and serving a higher authority rather than just being in their political interest.

  3. I vehemently disagree. Johnson needs to stay as PM for as long as possible. The longer he stays the greater the damage he does to the Tory Party and the easier Starmer and Sturgeon’s job gets. I hope he stays until the next election.

There’s also a danger that he gets replaced with someone competent and likeable and manages to rally the Tory party and supporters. I don’t want that. The country shouldn’t want that either.

  4. Boris will eventually get ousted, then there will be yet another early election and the Tories secure power unfairly yet again by preventing the opposition enough time to scramble together.

Can’t we just tear it all down and start again? The homeless drug addicts in my town are probably more competent than half of these fucks.

  5. If the last 2 years are anything to go by, it’s the BJ doesn’t care about what’s in the nation’s interest, no matter what side of the covid argument your on.

  6. Let’s say if Johnson did resign, won’t that crash the UK’s growth and business confidence in the UK? That is saying the country’s in turmoil.

  7. I am a firm believer that a general election should be enforced if Boris is to resign. And if one doesn’t come, we need to be louder and complain more than any brit ever had before

  8. Has anyone else noticed when Kier Starmer emphasizes a certain part of a speech he’ll adopt a certain posture throwing his arms out (as above) and then he looks like he’s impersonating the Night King from Game of Thrones.

  9. Russia’d be happy. The signs are they’re about to invade the Ukraine weeks causing the biggest war in Europe since the Balkans and Keir reckons we should be distracted with a leadership election because Martin invited staff for drinks in the garden.

Whether or not Labour is on the take from China (they seem to be busy doing nothing about the Gardiner revelations), Starmer’s vision for the party is clearly being their useful idiots at the moment. China’s engaged in an economic attack on Lithuania while Russia threatens Ukraine militarily, forming a neat little one-two to ramp up tensions in Europe, while Labour lets itself be caught up in pumped up shit about staff drinks events.

Find a policy and get serious about discussing the future of the country not the future of the office wine fridge.

  10. Getting rid of Boris sounds great, but who’s subbing for him? The way I see it we’re swapping one horrible posh cunt for another
