I thought the DUPs biggest fuck up this week was Paul Givan (Minister of Education in NI) meeting with the Christian Institute delegation to talk about sex education in NI, while also refusing to meet with LGBT groups.
How the DUP expect to be taken seriously as a moral authority at this point is beyond me, but no doubt they will still try.

Does anyone have any inside info on the legal side of this? Meaning the refusal to recognise historical agreements to treat sex offences as « private »?
There will be very strict reporting restrictions on this, and Contempt of Court and Perverting the Course of Justice can easily apply to Reddit comments.
If anyone’s curious about the wording around this, he has put in a lot of injunctions to stop media reporting on this previously. I think they’re trying to cover themselves

For those who remember Ian Paisley back in the 80s will know.
A lot of emphasis on the fact that these allegations are “historical”, but I would imagine that most criminal charges are, to some degree, historical.
Feels kind of like he’s giving himself a pat on the back that he’s not presently sexually assaulting someone. Way to go, Jeff.
Those who knew about this will just deny their knowledge of this. Fuck the system for enabling this man and putting him in positions of power and even giving him a knighthood. Disgusting piece of shit
