  1. Disappointed but not surprised, it was obvious that he would veto it. Hopefully we’ll have a better president next.

  2. Dont we have bigger things to worry about? Stop putting arbitrary restrictions ffs.

  3. Less than one and a half year and that clown will be rotting in prison.

  4. The most important part of the article.

    >Could not accept” the bill as it enabled access to the contraceptive pill “without medical supervision and bypassing the role and responsibility of parents,” it said. It also suggested Duda was open to easing restrictions, but only for women aged 18 and beyond.

You may agree or disagree, but the issue is nuanced enough that it doesn’t require name calling and inflammatory one liners

  5. I swear, Poland would be so much better without religious freaks..

  6. Tldr: He vetoed legislation to make morning-after contraceptives legal without prescription for girls over 15 (which is the legal age they can have sex in Poland)

  7. I have read conscription I was like “huh, so they can’t take me to army?” And after reading comments I realised it’s just those pills stuff

  8. I don’t think anyone of the libleft fanatics infestating this subreddit will even care to familiarize themselves with the justification for this decision.

Certainly the post title conveniently omits the facts that:

    – the bill was not about “restoring” access but extending it to females 15yo+, without any limitation or prescription (BTW, why only cis-women, can any libleft fanatic answer?)
    – the rationale for the veto was that 15yo limit. If the limit had been 18yo+ the decision would have been different, the President’s office representative said today.

But who cares, better bring pitchforks and torches to lynch yet another “Catholic witch”, right?

  9. I am sure you, Polish friends, will be able to pass it with the next one. You changed your PM and main party, you can do that with this dude too. Just unfortunate that some women will have to pay for it.

  10. Wait is he not the better president from their last elections?? I thought they kicked out the religious nut jobs?

  11. Mfs like him are usually conceived in the back of a Toyota Corolla by a drunk Holocaust denier banging an unconscious hooker so if there ever was an argument for emergency contraception he’s the living embodiment of it

  12. The toxic influence of the Roman Catholic Church still influential in the 21st century.

  13. Why can’t women have rights to their own bodies

  14. Ah yes. Conservatives fighting their power battles and ideological wars on the backs of the needy. It’s the same all over the world.

  15. Solution: resubmit the same bill again, and if he vetoes it again send “secret police” to amicably discuss the matter with him.

No more compromises with far-righters, it’s time to tell them “we rule, do as we say and shut it or else…”

  16. That kind of politics may only benefit depctions were polish people are dumb cristian zombies.

  17. Question to the left : what is more dangerous an energy drink or a medicine causing insane hormonal imbalance in the body? Because energy drinks are 18+ in Poland and the same left that advocated for this wants a pill that causes insane hormonal imbalance to be available to any kid.

The concern here is that kids can be irresponsible and having free access to this pill will make some girls abuse it possibly damaging their health.

  18. And the funniest thing is that it doesn’t really matter. The Ministry of Health has already announced a workaround, where they’ll make the pills available via a system of “pharmacist prescription” or something along these lines. Still, this guy’s blocking a lot of other reforms as well, as he’s the “last remaining bastion” of the regressive, ultra-conservative party that ruled the country for the last 8 years. His delusion is at the levels of those podcasters from the US and his incompetence and idiocy is almost proverbial in Poland. Who knows, maybe in 10 years we’ll have a saying “Dumb as a Duda.”
